From a Rally for Peace to a Rally for the Future – the next chapter begins.

Once Munich, Vienna and Budapest – today back in the most beautiful regions of Bavaria and beyond: The ADAC 3 Cities Rally enters a new era. Since 1963, it has stood for more than motorsport. Born as a “rally for peace” during the Cold War, it connected people across borders long before Europe grew together. Rallying as a bridge between nations – this spirit still defines the event today.

Over the decades, the rally has constantly reinvented itself. In 2017, a new concept was introduced in Eastern Bavaria. In 2022, the next bold step followed: a rally across three countries. With stages in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic, it paved the way for a new dimension of rallying – and became a catalyst for what later evolved into the Central European Rally.

For three years, the 3 Cities Rally paused to make room for this international milestone. Now it’s back – stronger, more international and with a clear vision for the future. In 2026, we return to cross-border rallying in Germany and Austria, combining legendary stages of the 3 Cities Rally with the spirit of modern European rallying.

With Hauzenberg as the new rally hub, the event gains a modern and regionally rooted home. At the same time, it returns to the FIA European Rally Trophy calendar, reconnecting seamlessly with its international heritage.

What remains unchanged is our commitment to responsible motorsport. The FIA 3-star sustainability certification reflects our ambition – and our responsibility. Together with regional partners, we continue to shape rallying that excites and inspires.

And at the heart of it all: you, the fans. Legendary stages, packed spectator zones and unforgettable moments meet special highlights like “Slowly Sideways,” bringing rally history to life.

The sporting core of the rally features 12 special stages with around 180 competitive kilometres.
The ceremonial start takes place on Friday at 3:00 pm on the town square in Hauzenberg.

After the overnight break, Saturday’s stages begin at 7:30 am, with the grand finish and podium ceremony returning to Hauzenberg’s town square at around 8:00 pm.

The ADAC 3 Cities Rally has always been more than an event.
It’s an experience. A community. Pure emotion.
